Chemical Substance Management

LG Display implements a rigorous pre-screening system for all chemicals introduced at both domestic and overseas worksites to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal standards, while strictly prohibiting the purchase of non-compliant substances. In parallel, we designate restricted substances, develops safer alternatives, establishes management guidelines, monitors chemical usage, and carries out on-site inspections to prevent exposure to environments harmful to employee health. To further enhance chemical safety and accident prevention, LG Display provides employees with access to up-to-date Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) through its integrated safety framework and shares chemical information company-wide. Training and management for chemical handlers are also conducted via a linked internal education system. Externally, LG Display regularly communicates its chemical accident prevention initiatives and response plans with relevant government agencies, local communities, and neighboring workplaces to ensure comprehensive preparedness and risk mitigation.

Pollutant Emission Management

LG Display treats all chemical substances and water pollutants generated at its business sites through internal wastewater treatment facilities, with all treated wastewater subsequently discharged to public treatment plants. To minimize environmental impact, we enforce discharge concentration standards for water pollutants that are stricter than those required by law. Additionally, to reduce air pollutant emissions from production processes, LG Display installs and operates optimized environmental pollution prevention systems. To ensure effective pollutant treatment even in the event of equipment failure, backup systems are installed and maintained for all prevention facilities. The company also makes continuous investments in process enhancements and equipment upgrades to further improve the efficiency of air pollutant management.
