Risk Management

Committee

LG Display operates a Risk Management Committee responsible for overseeing and supervising the company-wide risk/crisis management system. The Committee consists of six function-specific subcommittees and specialized headquarters organizations that provide integrated support from legal compliance and stakeholder communication perspectives. The Risk Management Committee establishes crisis management policies and systems and monitors the implementation of activities across the subcommittees. In the event of an incident, the Committee assesses the situation to determine whether to activate the emergency response system. It may also establish an Emergency Response Committee, led by the relevant management executives and tailored to the nature of the incident, to provide company-wide command and control and oversee situation management.

Policy

LG Display continuously operates and strengthens its crisis management system based on the principle of responding promptly and systematically to overcome crises, maintain stakeholder trust, and restore normal business operations as quickly as possible. To put this principle into practice, all employees faithfully fulfill their respective roles and responsibilities in crisis management, including compliance with the following policies.

  • 1 Life and safety come first in all circumstances.
  • 2 We respond promptly according to clear standards and procedures and share information transparently.
  • 3 Relevant organizations, including the accident management subcommittee, shall respond actively to minimize damage and quickly resolve the situation in the event of an accident.
  • 4 We carry out preventive activities for the types of accidents under management and strengthen risk response capabilities through regular education and training.
  • 5 We continuously maintain and manage the risk management system in response to changes in internal and external environments to ensure its effectiveness.

Risk Response Framework

LG Display has identified 16 key accident types requiring focused management and has established crisis-level response systems (Grades A through D). Based on this framework, incidents are promptly identified through simultaneous notification and reporting, and initial response actions and measures to prevent escalation are implemented in accordance with the principle of prioritizing the protection of human life and established response manuals. In addition, depending on situation-specific crisis assessment criteria, a division-level or company-wide Emergency Response Committee is convened. Through incident investigations, root causes are identified, and potential risks arising from the resulting damage and impacts are assessed. Based on these findings, crisis response action plans and recurrence prevention measures are developed. The implementation status of these actions is subsequently reviewed and monitored, and change management is carried out through the recovery phase until normal operations are restored.
